Mike Hoar is currently living in South-West France where he paints landscape themed subject matter. Before moving to France, Mike documented extensively his previous place of residence; Leicestershire, England.
The artist's method for creating works Initially involves producing small observational paintings on site within the landscape setting and from those works, larger works are created later in his studio. He has applied this practice for painting to landscapes/ sky-scapes/ urban-scapes through-out Spain, Japan, and now France.
Analytical and expressionistic drawing, a sense of place, and vibrancy of colour are but a few terms to describe the artist's sometimes highly abstracted works and at other times the more representational works that are created in his studio.
